Tools & Techniques

We make our furnishings by hand, the old fashioned way. Our shop drawings are done on paper, with pencil. Much of our joinery, preperation for finishes, and finishing itself is completed by two hands.

Of course, we appreciate contemporary tools and technology. And, we employ them where it makes sense to. But there is something special about a piece of furniture that is conceptualized and created by hand, the way it has always been done.

The extra time and care it takes. The attention to detail which comes naturally when going over every inch of a piece repeatedly, seeing and feeling the material. Those small differences always come through in the finished work.
